Rocky Mountain National Park

Boulder is actually quite close to Rocky Mountain National Park, and we had a few hours left on Friday afternoon after my workshop. So we took a short trip into the park to show Lexi the mountains. It was a beautiful day. We took a short walk around Nymph Lake and drove through the park. It was the end of the elk rutting season so there were a lot elk around and some very nice males. Lexi watched one from the side of the road for a while. He was pretty impressive. My iphone pictures don't do him justice. All 3 of us managed to get a lifer, a Rosy Finch. Not a bad afternoon.
