Omaha.... Somewhere in Middle America

To get out of the house and have some fun we went to Omaha for the weekend. Some friends were also going down for the weekend to attend a Beer Festival so we got to hang out with friends as well. We spent Saturday afternoon at an indoor waterpark. It was insanely busy and Alexia was very timid about the people and the water at first. But she warmed up quickly and played for hours in the splash pool and going up and down the slides. Sunday happened to be a community free day at the zoo. So we went out for a wonderful brunch and then spent a few hours at the zoo before heading home. The nice thing about the Omaha zoo is that a lot of the exhibits are indoor so it is a nice place to visit in the winter. Our friends had their kids along and Alexia loved watching and trying to be like Marin who is a few years older. It was a lovely weekend. We even made it to Trader Joe's to stock the cabinets with chocolates and yummy snacks.
