Exploring Local State Parks

A few weeks ago we got some of our first tastes of spring weather and we decided to finally explore some of the local state parks. Since we are so close to the state border this actually meant two different states. The first below was Palisades State Park just north of Sioux Falls in South Dakota. It isn't a very big park along the river but the bluffs and views are very pretty. Great spot for a picnic. The second was Blue Mounds State Park in Minnesota. It is just across the border. It is a much bigger park with lots of trails and a bison herd. The bison were a little far away so we didn't get any pictures of the bison but the views of the prairie were nice. Can't wait for summer so we can start to see some green!
