Yellowstone is a phenomenal park. We saw the highlights, and there is so much of the park that you never see. The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone was very impressive. We took Addi in the stroller down a steep trail to the top of the waterfall, somewhat unexpectedly. It was a pretty awesome view, but the hike back up was a bit of a challenge. The next day for Old Faithful was pretty chilly and windy, but the girls loved watching the geyser go off. We also lucked out and got to watch Bee Hive geyser go off, which is much taller than Old Faithful. The weather wasn't great for viewing the geothermal features, but they do create some beautiful colors. Getting both Addi and Lexi to smile at the camera is nearly impossible these days.
It snowed in the mountains the day we left. It was pretty cool to see the fresh snow on all the pine trees just a little way up the mountain from us. We spent the night on the way back at the Buffalo Gap Guest Ranch near Teddy Roosevelt National Park. We took a hike on the ranch and got to see a lot of animals in the park. It was a fun trip, but we were all pretty happy to get back home. Then Aunt Joanna had a long drive home to Virginia, but we hope she comes back to visit very soon. We all miss her!
