Saying Goodbye to Missouri

My parents just moved out of the of the house I grew up in, and we went back a few weeks ago to pick up some things and say goodbye. My best friend growing up lived across the street and her family is still there as well. She came home with her family to help say goodbye to an era. Our kids played in the leaves and we took them down to the lake in our neighborhood where we spent a lot of time playing when we were kids. It was a very bittersweet weekend, and it has been really hard knowing my whole family is now so far away. At least the girls got to see some of the places that shaped my life.
