What a year! Second grade ended in COVID drama, but third grade was a roller coaster ride. She started school going hybrid with half her class going MW, the other half TF and alternating their Wednesdays. Some kids chose to go all virtual so until late January she only had 8 kids in her class. Wearing masks all day, shorter school days, more recess, eating lunch in their room, doing gym, art and music by video in their classroom, plus about 3-4 months of completely virtual from home. Finally, in February they went back to full class 5 days a week, but still masked and not mingling with other kids. Somehow in all of that Alexia managed to get a lot better with her Spanish and still learn a lot. You can't stop their brains from learning at this age it seems. It helps that she had a fabulous teacher this year that really got her excited about school and learning. She REALLY got into her writing projects this year, especially the various types of poetry they studied and wrote. I am very proud of her. She excelled despite a pretty tough year.
