The Minnesota Prairie Chicken Society recently had their annual meeting nearby, and every year they have a youth art contest. Since Chris and I were attending the meeting and thus the girls were too, they decided to enter the contest. Alexia wrote a poem and did a sketch and Addi drew a picture. They actually had a lot of fun at the meeting because it is really more socializing then science or business and all the old people thought having kids around was great. They won prizes with all the extra raffle tickets they were gifted from others, and Addi even won first place in her age group at the art contest. She was a bit mortified when they called her on stage for the award. Its been a spring full of Prairie Chickens.
