Little House on the Prairie

In June, we went with our friend Becky to check out all the Laura Ingalls Wilder museums and homestead in Des Smet near Brookings. We got to see the Survivor's house where they spent some long winters and the house that her father built. We also went out to their original SD homestead. None of the original buildings are on site but they have turned it into what they call a "living prairie" exhibit. Lexi enjoyed that much more than the tours. She got to drive the covered wagon and pet all sorts of furry creatures, including a baby pony whose mother seemed very tolerant.
