Alexia decided to try the Nordic Ski team at school this year. This is classic and skate ski. She has had a lot of fun despite the fact that they haven't had the best snow conditions this year. They have managed to get in most meets on snow, but had a couple cancelled for extreme cold. She is definitely a better skier and much stronger. I only made it to two of the meets. One over the Christmas break in Fergus Falls, and the last meet in Grand Rapids for the Junior High Championships. She looked amazing both times, and I am so proud of her for all the hard work this year. The last meet in Grand Rapids started with great conditions, but the second race was in some pretty thick snow with some pretty strong winds. She made it through. These are some tough kids! She even inspired Addi to join a local Ski Sparks program for younger kids this winter, and Alexia has been volunteering to come help the younger kids lean to ski.
