Alexia got to meet some of her Texas family in February. Chris's parents and sister came up for a visit to meet Lexi and help out. Fortunately for them, the weather was unusually warm and pleasant. Lexi got lots of love, and Chris and I got to eat well. Aunt Nicole made some good Tex Mex, which is impossible to find in South Dakota. We need to get her recipe for Taco Soup. We even managed a trip to the county park complete with a lifer Snowy Owl for the Texans and a birding trip to Yankton. I wanted to see a Long-tailed Duck, which had been seen at the dam. It would have been a lifer for me (and Lexi), but no such luck. Here are some pictures from their visit.

Lexi was very sad to see them go and very worried when I told her they had to drive home in the snow. Thankfully they made it back to Texas safely. We miss them already.
We were worried about getting back too and Nicole was going regardless of weather but she did a good job and got us through. We are already anxious to get back and see her.
