National Park Tour - Canyonlands

We started our second day with a beautiful sunrise over our camp at Arches. Then we headed to Canyonlands for the day. It is a HUGE park and we only visited the Island in the Sky section which is the closest entrance to Arches. It is also the part of the park that is inaccessible to the rest of the part because it is up on such a high plateau. We hiked along a canyon rim where you could see the maze of canyons that the Green and Colorado rivers have carved. It was a very impressive landscape. Addi and I hiked to another arch that had a pretty amazing view of the canyons through it. The girls did their first Junior Ranger badge and had so much fun with that they decided to do one for every park we visited. So on our way back into Arches they picked up a book to finish that one. We were back at camp for dinner, a few rain showers and more rainbows. Canyonlands really needs at least a week by itself to explore, and a rafting trip through the canyons would be pretty awesome.
