Visiting Virginia

We finally got to use airline tickets to visit family in Virginia that we didn't get to use right at the beginning of the pandemic. We took our first plane ride in over two years. We drove to Minneapolis so we could take a direct flight. We had a great week with family. Alexia wanted to visit the Library of Congress, and we got a tour from a friend of my Mom. She took us down into the stacks, which was pretty cool and smelled amazing! We did the east coast beach thing in Delaware. We spent most of the day in the water and the evening playing games and eating along the boardwalk. The girls won some prizes, ate some ice cream and had fun with their cousins. We also spend a VERY hot afternoon at Mount Vernon seeing the gardens and touring George Washington's house. I think the highlight was Lafayette's Key hanging in the house since Alexia loves to listen to Hamilton. Otherwise, we got in a lot of pool time and just hanging out time with grandma, grandpa, aunts, an uncle and cousins. We miss them all dearly.
