Acadia National Park - Day 1

Instead of camping this year we are staying in hotels so the girls got to experience the touristy towns outside of National Parks. We stayed in Bar Harbor, but since schools were still in, it wasn't nearly as crowded as I imagine it gets in the summer. We had reservation for Cadillac road for sunrise on our first day, which turned out to be good luck weather wise. We got up early, drove up the mountain, and found a nice place to sit and watch the sunrise. It was a beautiful morning, but a little breezy. We found a spot to sit a little out of the wind. The girls and I then did a 2.5 mile hike down the mountain while Chris took the car to meet us at the bottom. Because the next day was supposed to be very rainy, we decided to make the drive over to the other side of the park during low tide to see the tide pools. It was a beautiful spot, and we saw some cool things. I think we all agreed the tide pools at Olympic were much better. Score one for the pacific. After that, we were all pretty exhausted. We went back to the hotel and either took naps or sat in the hot tub. Then we went into Bar Harbor for dinner.
